Who is eligible for the Merdeka Generation Scheme?
You or your parents are eligible and considered part of the Merdeka Generation if:
- They are Singaporean citizens who were born from 1 January 1950 to 31 December 1959 AND
- Became a Singapore citizen on or before 31 December 1996.
OR
- Were born on or before 31 December 1949 AND
- Became a Singapore citizen on or before 31 December 1996 AND
- Did not receive the Pioneer Generation Package.
What are the conditions that are eligible for Merdeka Generation subsidies?
Common illnesses
Common everyday illnesses like coughs, cold, flu etc are eligible for subsidies up to $23.50 per visit.

- Cough, cold and flu
- Diarrhoea
- Fever
- Headache
- Skin infection and rashes
- Sore eyes
- Urinary tract infection
Chronic conditions
If you or your parents have chronic conditions such as diabetes, hyperlipidemia (high cholesterol) or hypertension, visiting our Raffles Medical primary care clinics to manage their conditions is subsidised under CHAS.

Selected dental services
Under CHAS, selected dental services such as fillings and extractions are all eligible for the Merdeka Generation subsidy. Created for the Merdeka Generation, our dental packages range from $10.70 to $38.00 (after CHAS subsidies and inclusive of GST). This consists of consultation, scaling and polishing, topical fluoride and dental consumables.

1 Coverage for acute illnesses is applicable for patients on the Merdeka Generation, CHAS Subsidy Blue Tier, CHAS Subsidy Orange Tier, CHAS Subsidy Green Tier, and Pioneer Generation.
2 Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP) – The programme covers: Anxiety, Asthma, Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH), Bipolar Disorder, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Dementia, Diabetes, Hypertension, Lipid Disorders, Major Depression, Nephritis/Nephrosia, Osteoarthritis (OA), Parkinson's Disease, Schizophrenia, and Stroke.
3 Healthcare needs are defined as basic dental treatments and acute conditions covered under CHAS and the 15 chronic diseases covered under the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP).
4 MediSave claims are applicable for out-patient treatment of conditions under CDMP. Patients can utilise their own, or their immediate family member’s MediSave. Different MediSave limits and eligibility criteria apply for different healthcare programmes.
