Profile:
Dr Terence Tan is a specialist in Medical Oncology. He received his medical degree at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland before undertaking a Masters of Science in Molecular Medicine at Imperial College, London, UK. He completed his internal medicine residency training at SUNY Buffalo, New York, USA, followed by a clinical fellowship in medical oncology at Roswell Park Cancer Institute, New York, USA.
Dr Tan has international experience in the management and treatment of cancer patients. He has previously worked in both clinical academic and private practice settings, including positions at National Cancer Center Singapore and Central Care Cancer Centre Kansas, USA, OncoSolutions Cancer Centre Singapore and Icon SOC Singapore.
Dr Tan is an advocate for clinical trials and participates in a number of international trials across different cancer types. He has developed a comprehensive clinical trials planner, which assists patients in navigating the vast number of trials available globally. Dr Tan has also designed a lifestyle program that helps people adhere to the World Cancer Research Fund’s cancer prevention guidelines. As a recipient of two EDB biomedical sciences proof-of-concept research grants, Dr Tan’s research has pioneered and developed novel cancer bio-devices for cancer treatment.
His clinical interests are in breast cancers, lung cancers, gastrointestinal cancers, hepatobiliary cancers, genitourinary cancers, gynecological cancers, melanoma, head and neck cancers, solid tumors, cancer immunotherapy, precision cancer medicine, precision oncology, clinical trials, cancer genetics, genetic test counselling and preventive cancer medicine.
