Profile:
Dr Robin Edwards is a Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. He graduated from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, Northeast England in 2006, and completed his specialty training in London and Southeast England, which included two years at King’s College Hospital. Dr Edwards obtained membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 2013. He is also a member of the British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy, British Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology, and International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
Prior to joining Raffles Hospital, Dr Edwards was a Consultant at Medway Maritime Hospital, United Kingdom, since 2016 where he held the roles of Labour Ward lead and Divisional Patient Safety lead. He relocated to Singapore in 2024 with his Singaporean wife, who is a doctor, and their three young children. Dr Edwards’ own experience as a husband and father provides an important depth to his consultations. He offers personalised advice by carefully considering each patient’s individual circumstances and preferences.
Dr Edwards has expertise in managing gynaecological conditions such as period problems, polycystic ovarian syndrome, menopause symptoms, fibroids, ovarian cysts, adenomyosis, and endometriosis. He has experience in performing minimally invasive laparoscopic and hysteroscopic gynaecological procedures. Dr Edwards is also an accredited colposcopist, and manages women with pre-cancerous and cancerous lesions of the cervix and lower genital tract. He has published and presented on outcomes after treatments for pre-cancerous lesions of the cervix. Dr Edwards promotes preventive healthcare and provides well-woman checks, cervical screening, and pre-pregnancy consultations.
Dr Edwards’ obstetric practice includes managing antenatal, labour, and postpartum care for women and their babies. He is an accoucheur skilled in delivering babies naturally, with assistance of the ventouse or forceps, and by Caesarean section. His family-centred approach and attention to detail ensures that birth plans are thoroughly discussed in advance, and questions are answered in an unrushed manner.
