Profile:

Dr N V Ramani is a neurologist at Raffles Neuroscience Centre. He received his basic medical degree from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 1983. He obtained his M Med (Int Med) from NUS in 1988 and Fellowship with the Royal College of Physicians (Edinburgh) in 2005. His other qualifications are FAMS (Neurology), Cert Neurosonology (WFN NSRG), Cert Neurosonology (ASN), PGDip (Epidemiology) (London), MSc (Epidemiology) (London), DLSHTM (Epidemiology) and Master of Health Science (Stroke Management) (Newcastle). Prior to joining Raffles Hospital, Dr Ramani was a senior consultant in the Division of Neurology at the National University Hospital. He was also Associate Professor with the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health and is currently Adjunct Professor with the Department of Medicine, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore.

He is actively involved in both postgraduate and undergraduate medical training, as well as teaching of allied healthcare workers and the public. Dr Ramani is a member of numerous local and international committees as well as an editorial board member and reviewer for several peer-reviewed journals related to medicine, neurology and stroke. His special interests are in stroke, neurosonology, dementia, epidemiology and clinical trials.
