Profile:

Dr Li Man Kay is a Specialist in Urology. He graduated from the University of Hong Kong in 1975, and received his training at Queen Mary Hospital and University of South Manchester, United Kingdom. In 1980, Dr Li obtained Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, and Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Glasgow. He went on to obtain Fellowship of the American College of Surgeons in Urology in 1986, and Fellowship of the Academy of Medicine Singapore in Urology in 1990.

Prior to joining Raffles Hospital, Dr Li was Chief of Division of Urology at the Department of Surgery, University of Hong Kong in 1986. He was invited to the newly established Urology Department at Singapore General Hospital in 1988, where he played a key role in developing the latest technologies, and was appointed the inaugural Director of the Urology Centre. Dr Li took on the position of Associate Professor and Chief of Urology at National University of Singapore in 1998. He was also the founding Chairman of the Department of Urology in 2002. Dr Li was Head of the Renal Transplant Team in the Ministry of Health from 1996 to 2003, and member of the Transplant Advisory Board from 1996 to 2014. He received a long service award from the Ministry in 2015.

Dr Li has published over 200 peer review papers and given over 100 invited lectures. He received professorships from the Department of Surgery, The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2014 and Tribhuvan University of Nepal in 2015. Dr Li also received lifetime achievements awards from both Singapore Urological Association in 2022, and Society of Transplant in 2023.  With his contribution to the development of urology, Dr Li received honorary memberships from the Malaysian Urological Association, Thai Urological Association, Nepal Association of Urological Surgeons, and the Urological Association of Asia. He served as President of the Singapore Urological Association from 1999 to 2002, Board of Directors, Societe Internationale de Urologie from 2000 to 2004, President of Urological Association of Asia from 2016 to 2017, and Honorary Executive Director of Urological Association of Asia from 2018 to 2022.
